The Volunteer Ethical Code

1. Values and Ethics

All actions undertaken by volunteers must reflect the highest ethical standards and align with the values of the Emirates: integrity, respect, and responsible citizenship.
Volunteers are expected to:

• Uphold values of honesty, integrity, and respect in every aspect of their service.

• Represent the Emirates Academy Awards and, by extension, the UAE with pride and professionalism.

• Act with fairness and impartiality, ensuring that all individuals — participants, guests, and colleagues — are treated with dignity and respect.

• Embrace the spirit of volunteerism as a meaningful contribution to culture and the creative community.

2. Confidentiality

Volunteers may have access to sensitive or privileged information related to the event, its participants, or its operations. They must:

• Refrain from sharing or disclosing any confidential information during and after their service.

• Safeguard all documents, communications, and materials entrusted to them.

• Respect the privacy of guests, participants, and fellow team members at all times.

3. Reliability and Responsibility

The reliability of volunteers reflects the professionalism of the EAA as a whole. Volunteers are expected to:

• Fulfill their assigned duties diligently and on time.

• Seek guidance from their designated coordinator or supervisor whenever they encounter challenges.

• Understand that, as volunteers, they represent the values and reputation of the Emirates Academy Awards.

4. Effective Communication

Clear and respectful communication is essential to the success of any collective endeavor. Volunteers should:

• Engage with colleagues, supervisors, and guests in a professional, respectful, and constructive manner.

• Stay well-informed about event policies, procedures, and key information to respond accurately to questions.

• Use the opportunity to develop their professional and interpersonal skills.

5. Spirit of Support

Volunteers are vital to the smooth operation and success of the Emirates Academy Awards. They are expected to:

• Support their peers and collaborate as part of a unified team.

• Assist participants, guests, and visitors within their assigned areas whenever needed.

• Contribute positively to achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

6. Positive Attitude

The volunteer’s demeanor contributes to the overall experience of the event. Volunteers must:

• Maintain a respectful, proactive, and welcoming attitude, even under pressure or in challenging circumstances.

• Exhibit patience, empathy, and adaptability when interacting with diverse groups of people.

7. Professionalism

The quality of volunteer work reflects the standards of the EAA. Volunteers are expected to:

• Strive to improve their performance and efficiency throughout their service.

• Deliver their tasks with a focus on quality, precision, and attention to detail.

• Conduct themselves in ways that enhance the reputation of the Emirates Academy Awards.

8. Respect for Authority

Respect for the organizational structure and procedures of the EAA is essential. Volunteers must:

• Follow the instructions and guidance provided by their designated coordinators and supervisors.

• Abide by all regulations, policies, and safety protocols of the Emirates Academy Awards.

• Protect the property, resources, and materials entrusted to them.

• Refrain from making statements or commitments on behalf of the EAA without proper authorization.

9. Conflict of Interest

To ensure impartiality and preserve trust:

• Volunteers must not use EAA resources or their position for personal gain or advantage.

• They must avoid accepting gifts, services, or favors that could compromise their independence or objectivity, except when permitted under standard cultural hospitality practices.

10. Equality and Inclusion

The Emirates Academy Awards is committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion. Volunteers must:

• Treat everyone equally, without bias or prejudice based on race, color, gender, age, nationality, religion, ability, or background.

• Contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects the spirit of the Emirates and the universal values of cinema.
